Jesus is king!

Only One Church Preaches This Message with Mark Finley

A Message to the Irmo Church from James Suber

Times Are Changing So Look Up Not Down

We have had a major change in our lives through the past few weeks. We have moved from there is a virus and be cautious by using social distancing to stores and churches being closed by government officials to keep everyone from large gatherings where the virus could be transferred . As these events unfold and we are more and more isolated: Now is the time for us to focus on Jesus.
We are children of God and have hope that the world is missing. We should be leading by the example of our lives. Should we be in fear as the rest of the world? God forbid we live like that... we have the greatest hope of all! We have the promise of Jesus and know we are saved by His precious blood to eternal life with Him.
We should still be focused on Jesus and not remove our eyes from Him. As Peter was able to walk on water because of his focus on Jesus; we too are able to walk through the “impossible situations and chaos” by our continued focus on Him. Never one time will Jesus let us go. He has greater love for us than we could ever fathom.
We can find ourselves distracted by the troubles of the world and fear of what is to come; especially with the COVID-19 virus. This takes our focus away from Jesus and like Peter; we will find ourselves sinking in fear from the chaos around us. Keep your eyes on Him, love your fellow neighbors, be a “light” to the world and reflect the light of Christ to those around us by our love and peace that can only be found in our Lord Jesus!

You are all in my prayers and loved!

-James

Excerpt from "Adventists and the 1918 Influenza Pandemic."

Instead, [W.A. Rubble, MD] Ruble called upon Adventists to see this as an opportunity “for carrying the gospel to the world.” As churches and schools were closed, travel was restricted, and colporteurs were refused the privilege to sell books, he challenged the church: “After influenza, what? What shall Seventh-day Adventists do to be ready for such experiences?” He urged that as hospitals were overwhelmed, each Adventist home could become a center for medical missionary work, teaching and ministering to others.“During this epidemic,” he noted, “every Seventh-day Adventist has had ten times as many opportunities for service as he could fill if he had been ready for them. What a chance for missionary endeavor and for practicing that pure religion and undefiled of which James speaks! Some, however, have been so fearful of contracting the disease that they have refrained from offering assistance to the distressed. . . . In such experiences as we are passing through, barriers, social and professional, are being broken down.” So now what? “Let every Seventh-day Adventist become a medical missionary.”

What You CAN Do

1.  During this time the most important thing we can do is to PRAY!
Pray for our Nation, our leaders, healthcare workers, your family, friends and enemies...
Stay connected with church members by calling, texting or via social media.

2. Read the word of God to find encouragement and hope. Do not feed only with the bad news out there, the peace of God will cast out all fear.

3. Stay healthy by eating fruits, vegetables, legumes and avoiding all acidic foods (meats, dairy, soft drinks, coffee).

4.  Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds each time.

5. Keep praying
