Mission:
To love Irmo unconditionally, minister to our community’s needs, welcoming our neighbors into the fellowship of all believers.

Vision:
Our vision for the Irmo Church is to be a community experiencing the healing and transforming power of Jesus Christ in order to be prepared for His return and live in His Eternal Kingdom.

What we believe

Christ

Jesus is the divine Son of God.  He is God in the form of man. He is the Eternal Self-Existent One and is NOT a created being. He is fully God and man. Jesus is the creator of all things.  Hebrews 1:1-3. Colossians 1:16-18

The Cross

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid the penalty for man's sin through His suffering and death on the Cross of Calvary.  2 Corinthians 5:19.  Only Jesus, the Sinless One, could pay or sin-debt.  "The wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23.  By believing on Him and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life... "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:9.

The Commandments

Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we want to obey Him as He commands in John 14:15.
We are not saved by our works. But, because we are saved, we choose to keep His commandments as the guide for successful living.

The Coming of Jesus Christ

One of the greatest promises in the Bible is that Jesus will return to this earth very soon! Bible Prophecy reveals that very fact based on the events that we see happening in our world today.  We are anticipating the return of Jesus when He will take His people back to heaven with Him.

Our Core Values

1. Evangelism:  Because Jesus came “to seek and save the lost” and founded His Church upon the commission to “go and make disciples,” our first priority as believers, our greatest privilege in life, and our ultimate purpose as a church, is to proclaim the everlasting gospel first to those who live in Irmo, SC, then to the areas surrounding Columbia, and then into the ends of the earth.

2. Discipleship: Because Jesus taught God’s Will to men and women and prepared them for ministry, we too will live as disciples by becoming serious students of God’s Word; by becoming equipped for ministry in the church, and by laboring for souls in order to make disciples.

3. Fellowship: Because Jesus accepted outcasts, touched the untouchable, and “ate with sinners,” we will fellowship with, pray for, and share in the joys and sorrows of life with ALL people – not just those who are like us.  We prize our fellowship enough to protect it by resisting gossip and resolving conflict Biblically.

4. Prayer:  Because Jesus maintained a vital connection to His Father through prayer and taught His disciples how to pray, we will intentionally cultivate a strong prayer life where privately and with other Christians we, “open our hearts to God as a friend.”

5. Spiritual Growth:  Because Jesus was patient with His disciples who were slow to learn and believe, we will be patient with and supportive of each other as we all strive to grow in Christ.  Because God is doing a different work in each believer’s heart, we will let the light of any personal convictions shine by how we live so others “may see [our] good works and glorify [our] Father in heaven” and avoid pressing our individual convictions upon the entire church.

6. Abundant Living: Because Jesus stated that His mission was to heal the broken hearted, set the captive free, and give liberty to all who are oppressed, we seek after the abundant life that Jesus’ promised by submitting to the will of God as revealed in Scripture.  By surrendering fully to Christ’s Lordship, we will be renewed and transformed physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

7. Grace and Obedience: Because Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience, He was able to exchange His life for ours before the Father as an act of grace; therefore, we will become champions of such marvelous grace - giving to others the same grace we have received from God and loving the One who extended grace to us by obeying Him through the Spirit’s enabling.
