Pastor's corner

THE CERTAINTY OF HIS COMING
I want to welcome you to our Pastor’s Corner.  I hope and pray that the thoughts and comments, in this section, will be a blessing to you, and bring you into a closer relationship with the Divine Nazarene.  Jesus Christ, who lived and grew up in Nazareth, a society of ill repute (John 1:46), died and resurrected on the third day… He is the Savior of this world, and is coming back soon as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
My friend, you and I are living in troublesome and portentous times. The ‘time’ that God has allotted for planet Earth is swiftly ebbing away… It seems that there is an active exsanguination from every corner of our society, and man, is unable to stop it, or get a solid grip on the downward spiral of our morals, principles, mores, etc. that governs decency, and uplifts humanity. These are telltale signs of an anticipated collapse and crumbling of our civilization; mankind and nature cry aloud for a mighty Divine intervention in our world.
Nevertheless, there are those who stubbornly dismiss the notion of God in their lives, or the inherent concept of His involvement in the past, present and future affairs of our planet. Others, mock the long-awaited return of Jesus Christ, considering it a futile illusion of the believer. Some may speculate, that perhaps, it is the result of a fanciful imagery underlined with a mental deficit. But amid the negative imperatives around, one thing stands firm: that the sacred expectation of His Second Coming, harbored in the heart of many, it is not a capricious, whimsical, or temperamental assertion.
The many lives of men of great renown of yesteryear, have been illuminated and their paths paved, by the millennial hope treasured in their hearts, that Jesus will come back again, just as He promised He would.
In the dawning epochs of our world, the Patriarch Enoch prophesied: “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”  (Jude 14,15)
Abraham, the Father of the Faithful stated: “for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:10.)
The blessed hope in the Divine Lordship, and the final triumph of life over death was the main principle that sustained Job’s faith, in the middle of vicissitude, that impelled him to say: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”  (Job 19:26,27)
What was the vision that King David, the Sweet Singer and King of Israel, had about the future? “Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people” (Psalm 50:3,4)  My dear friend, what is your vision and thought about your future that crowds your mind?
